Nursery have had a fantastic start to the year and we are all now settled and enjoying learning at school.
Our topic this half term is All About Me. This gives us the opportunity to learn more about the children and their interests. This topic will help us as we move forward with our learning throughout the year, using the children’s interests as our future topics and adapting our learning. We have made our own All About Me books with our families and enjoy sharing them daily with our peers.
In maths we have been focusing on counting to 10 and identifying numbers to 10. We have had some amazing home learning from the children who have shown pictures of them finding numbers in their homes and environments.
As a part of our topic we have created our own self-portraits. We spoke about how we are all different and selected colours for a purpose, looking closely at our own features. This has made a wonderful display in our new classroom.
The children are also looking at environmental sounds in Phonics and have enjoyed learning about the sounds around us and recreating these in our exploring time.
If you would like to know what we are learning each week in Nursery and how you could support your child at home please see the notice board in Nursery. This will have activities and ideas weekly according to our learning.
The children have already become confident learners and have created great friendships with their peers. Thank you to all of the parents and carers for all of their continuing support this term and a huge well done to the children for their amazing start to Nursery!

The school works closely with The BECC to offer children and families, skills, support and advise. We run many sessions with the BECC from Cook 4 life to Tea club through Foundation stage. Please take a look at their website to see what they have to offer in the local area including parenting courses and stay and play sessions.
