Cowley Hill is a County Maintained two form entry Primary School with a Nursery. Currently Hertfordshire County Council is responsible for allocating places from the Reception classes upwards. Click on the link to find out more about Hertfordshire Schools Admissions.

Cowley Hill Nursery provides 45 places for children who will be 4 during the school year that they start. There is a single intake in September.

How are applications considered?
Once the closing date has arrived, we will consider all the applications received. If there are 45 or fewer applications, all applicants will be offered a place. If there are more than 45 applicants, then the following criteria will be applied:
1. Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan
2. Children looked after, SGO, adopted
3. Children with a particular medical or social need to attend the school
4. Children with a sibling at the school
5. Children who have a parent who works at the school
6. Distance of the child's home from the school.
(To be eligible for consideration under criteria 1 to 3 you will need to supply documentary evidence with your application)
Children offered a place will be expected to attend the nursery five days a week Monday to Friday during term time.
Children who are not successful initially will go on a waiting list and will be offered a place if one becomes available.
How will distances be measured?
