Wellbeing

At Cowley Hill, taking care of pupils’ wellbeing continues to be a priority. We recognise the link between wellbeing and performance, personally or academically, that when enjoying a state of wellbeing individuals are more likely to achieve their full potential.

Whilst we can support young people to be happy and healthy, they have the best chance of being able to stay so if they learn how to take responsibility for their own wellbeing.

We follow Hertfordshire’s “5 ways to Wellbeing” pathway which enables pupils to engage with, and experience key elements of wellbeing. This assists the development of skills that enables them to think about and look after their own wellbeing, for life.

My Personal Best

“My Personal Best” has been designed to inspire teachers to teach life skills through physical education. It aims to develop life skills, leadership and employability skills in young people such as empathy, teamwork and resilience.

My Personal Best explores these skills practically, helping children to recognise and transfer them to other lessons, to life in school and to their wider environment.
