At Cowley Hill, we have four house teams. They are called Ruby, Topaz, Emerald and Sapphire. When children join, they are allocated to a house team.
For each house, we have a male and female house captain from year 6. House Captains are responsible for promoting the ethos and values of their house, encouraging pupils to do their best in house competitions as well as helping staff organise competitions. To be elected as a House Captain, pupils write a manifesto explaining why they would like the role. These are then read out during assembly and when back in class pupils vote for who they would like.
In line with our Behaviour Policy, throughout each day pupils can earn House Tokens for excellent effort in learning, excellent effort when completing home learning tasks, being an outstanding role model as well as many other opportunities.
House tokens accumulated each week are counted and in our weekly Celebration Assemblies the winning house for the week is announced. At the end of each term, the winning house is rewarded with a ‘House Team Reward’ afternoon.
